I gripped my first pair of 7A ProOrca sticks when I was ten, in a room where you could still read "Metallica" or "Iron Maiden" above the bed. Too thin for metal? Not in my hands. They took every pattern, every blast, every daydream where I saw myself as Lars or Lombardo.
Thirty-five years later, I’m stacking up the memories: endless rehearsals, gigs in sweaty little clubs and the biggest festivals, studios smelling of exhaustion at the thousandth take... My ProOrcas have never left my side. They’ve grown old with me, polishing their handles with the sweat of encores.
Then came the rumor: ProOrca was about to bow out. I felt a void. Impossible. ProOrca isn't just a logo; it’s a pulse.
So, one weekend, it clicked: Stéphanie, a passionate entrepreneur, and I, a drummer for life, said "let's do it." Flavien, the wizard who has been turning hickory wood for twenty years, said "I’m in."
Today, we keep that heart beating in Provence: premium wood, sawdust that smells of lavender, and precision craftsmanship. Our sticks leave the workshop just as they did forty years ago: ready to tell your story, one beat at a time.

We don't want to brag, but that's exactly the truth. Cool, right? Also, our sticks are designed and shaped with unique know-how, and matched to the ear. Yes, amateurism isn't really our specialty. And if ProOrca has Pro, it's not just for show. And because we also love the planet (yes, drummers have feelings too), we have an eco-responsible approach: we don't use varnish on our sticks. Never. Wood and nothing but wood. Your hands will be happy!

Where does the name ProOrca come from?
#1 – The ORCA movie
ProOrca would come from a discussion between two big names in drums who, deciding to launch a new brand of sticks, at the beginning of the 1980s, thought of the name of the horror film Orca (who knows why!) and, to make it more "pro", decided to call the sticks ProOrca.
#2 - Do you know Jeff Porcaro?
The ultimate studio drummer of the 70s and 80s, who recorded for some illustrious unknowns like Michael Jackson, Paul McCartney, Elton John, the Bee Gees… And then above all, and obviously, THE drummer for Toto and, as such, the inventor of the holy grail of all drummers: the Rosana shuffle. Nothing less.
A historic brand that has weathered storms
We’ve seen tours, studios, pro drummers, and enthusiasts come and go. And a few struggles, too. Real ones. We even nearly gave it all up. But we’re still here. Because when you love to play, you don't stop at the first break.
